Topic: No Devices Found (Booted alright)

Hi,
I'm fairly new with Gparted. I need to resize a partition (ext3) for feisty fawn Ubuntu. So, I booted form the newest livecd, had to force the vesa drivers because of my graphics card. So I landed in the GUI, and see the Gparted program pop up. I don't see any drives inside the program, so I do find devices. However, no devices are found. I've heard the 695 intel chipset has caused problems, and I have that chipset, so I think it may be related.

                   Thanks for the help!
(I also tried the newest beta and it didn't work)

I'm having the exact same problem. I don't want to have to format my hd as I play games and require XP.

Intel 695? Are you sure?
Is it perhaps 965?
965 doesn't cause any problem. My new computer has the 965 chipset, and had no problem with devices using the latest livecd.
I had a screen problem, but I finally found a solution. Perhaps the following could give you an idea:

Do you have black desktop background on screen or light brown ?
