Topic: After 2048 Gparted offset. Video?'s

Installed,
XPSP3 -> formatted after GParted fdisk'd partition without using diskpart.
OpenBSD -> used after GParted to re-fdisk that partition and disklabel for it's partitions.
Both OS's excepted GParted 2048 offset

The installed the following. on XP
7-zip
sumatra pdf reader
Open Office -> Stable it installed visuall C++ distributable
Internet Explorer 8.0 for XP
Netscape 9.0 the last release
Gimp 2.8

I then listen to some internet radio music via Windows media player
and also some found within but played through a outside site.

I started getting real buggy video output usually much later after boot
but today it happened during boot. When it first occured I checked display
settings that seemed to be reset but that's not the case and today when
it occured it happened after uninstalling all these programs which all seem
to be very clean and stable except for some minor issues with Gimp.

Also today for the 1'st time boot of OpenBSD seemed to be getting some of the
same symptoms for the first time though stop'd just about the time sshd showed
as being started and just prior to login prompt however 1 or 2 other times it took
5 password attempts to get into root without boot s.

During some of the video occurences offline i have used netstat -s which sometimes
shows 3 udp packet header errors and i realize udp is also used a board to output
terminal or vice versa communication protocol.

Could the partitioning offset have anything to do with any of the above or with
the seperation of Internet Explorer in 2 parts prior to loading together as 1?

Re: After 2048 Gparted offset. Video?'s

Curtis *the time issue mentioned in the other 2048 thread.
This just occured and time was showing MO of brute force
attack.

http://besaw.webs.com/technical/GParted … e_swap.txt

The interfaces above have been swapped in other words the wrong device
interface is showing as being the 1 connected.

The time issue also had symptoms of time stamp forgery via DNS zones.

Please let me know about any of my other issues in the above post if
relevant to offset 2048.

In case you wish to contact Starbucks/attwifi about the above mentioned.
This is the correct device and the one connected last time showing otherwise.

Re: After 2048 Gparted offset. Video?'s

They appear to be using IPV4 "and not IPV6(?)" which brings up legal issues
about being breach of law in CA. regarding RFID over FM since IPV4 is not
doing the MAC filtering as I know though I believe IPV6 may via non
human automation.

I left the identifying portion of the device but zero'd the unique identifier.
These numbers i do not believe were designed for humans to begin with.

Re: After 2048 Gparted offset. Video?'s

sawman, this post does not appear to be related to GParted.  For problems with networks I suggest you search for a forum that his network related.

Re: After 2048 Gparted offset. Video?'s

I don't think video issues are related to the partition offset. Concerning xp, we had no such reports on this forum. There were users that installed xp using the GParted MiB default with no issues. Usually, video issues are related to wrong drivers for the graphics adapter or some hardware problem of this adapter. Please, check if the adapter hardware works correctly. Check the temperature, as well as the card fan. Sometimes, dust on the fan makes it turn slowly.

A remark: this section is dedicated to issues related to the *forum* software only.

Re: After 2048 Gparted offset. Video?'s

Curtis yes the networking is not related to Gparted partitioning. Just letting you know the network i
was on when time irregularities occurred which seem more related to live bugs.

The XP software mentioned previously was installed prior to GParting except Internet Explorer 8.

Moderator good advice but if the fan and heat were issue with the video i would think that it's
distortion would get worse with more running time but it clears up. The video drivers are showing
as Microsofts but im not certain if it's their card. Still checking and may try rolling back the drivers
but not mentioned previously is that system restore was turned off after it was set on and the
4-13 Gparted date of install which would be my first choice as a restore point is not available.

A new user account was created after deleting the other and all its files and since there has not been
a video issue and The GParted offsets are still here.

Re: After 2048 Gparted offset. Video?'s

I think Gimp may have also been installed after. Upon uninstalling Internet Explorer 8 it gave a
message saying Gimp may not work correctly after uninstalling.

Curtis and moderator i was looking for my other 2048 thread and saw Bens diagram.
Im not receiving emails notifying me of  these and the thread is not showing? I think
newer UBUNTU has a 5 gig minimum limit for install and Windows 7 maybe the 80 gig
minimum?

63 offset set for Windows partition id of 0C which is Win FAT32 Long. This was set by BSD
fdisk and then formatted by default of Windows choice as NTFS. Subsequently BSD fdisk did
pick up the change showing it as NTFS. BSD defaults to 64 so it's offset was set to that
when fdisked at the same time.

There has been no more video bugs since the above changes. There were also
some boot problems probably more attributable to Euro REHL/Fedora disk.

Re: After 2048 Gparted offset. Video?'s

Curtis I Gparted deleting a 5 gig partition along with the known >4 and <8 partitions?
I thought at first the 5 gigs showing could be from (hibernation, pagefile, restore, write
caching etc.) settings. They all seem to be about the size of the 1 gig loss showing but
I only use restore. Mentioned in the post above and i think in the other 2048 thread I
don't think I mentioned grub boot prompt after installing XP over fdisk'd Linux which caused
another install. Im leaving it as is until i purchase  another suitable drive. for the other
OS and im going to disassemble the lap top as im not certain about flash storage
other than USB sticks among other internal components to upgrade.

Anyways Linux fdisk, sfdisk, BSD fdisk and disklabel nor Win tools show the other
unknown partition(s) found more than once. Also BIOS boot orders are now back to
what i think are the defaults and there are still UDP header errors without online
connections but im looking into these away from this topic thread as told to do.
