Topic: [Solved] How to get unallocated space out of an extended partition
Hi All,
I'm an IT support tech trying to free up some space on a client's server. I bet the next step is easy but I can't find out what I am doing wrong.
The specs:
-Windows Server 2003
-Two partitions, C and D.
-C is out of space and D has much free space
-I resized D which now has 20G of unallocated space in D's extended partition
-This unalloc'd space is to the left of the used space in the partition
-The D partition is to the right of the C partition
Apparently I need to get the unalloc'd space out of the extended partition that holds D before I can grow C into the space. I can't find/understand the answers that Google hits provide. Can anyone help me with this ? I'd love to be able to return the server by Monday morning !
Thanks all ahead of time,
Denis
