Re: UFS fs is disabled?

That's right, UFS creation and resizing isn't actually supported.
These operations are performed from dedicated free/open source tools that GParted uses.
About UFS, it seems that there is no such free/open source Linux software to perform these operations.

*** It is highly recommended to backup any important files before doing resize/move operations. ***

So, Linux cant mount and support USF based discs?

Re: UFS fs is disabled?

Not just mount, the main scope is to resize.
Every tool that is sufficiently stable and meets the licence requirements, is welcome.

Re: UFS fs is disabled?

The UFS file system is used by Berkeley Unix.  It is not native to GNU/Linux.

If you wish to start a project to write UFS utilities for GNU/Linux, then I suggest you spend some time searching the Internet to learn more about UFS and any possible attempts by others.
