Topic: Reclaiming space when sizing down?

Hi everyone. I am trying to resize some of my partitions (downward) and I see no way of reapplying that space to my Windows (NTFS) drive. Is there a way to do this? Right now it just shows it as unused space, but there's no way to increase the maximum size of my Windows drive.

Thanks,
John

I'd love the usefull amount of information in your question tongue
Now i can only guess that you are trying to move the start of your ntfspartition? If you want to do that you need the latest version of gparted (0.3.1). I advice you to download the latest livecd from http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php

Re: Reclaiming space when sizing down?

Ok, here's more info. My current partitions look like this:

NTFS    20GB
/          10GB
/home    1GB
shared  25GB
swap      1GB

After I do the resizing, it looks like this in GParted:

NTFS    20GB
/            7GB
unused space 3GB
/home    512MB
unused   512MB
shared  512MB
unused  24.5GB
swap     512MB
unused  512MB

Then when I try to resize the NTFS partition to take up all that unused space, it still shows a maximum of 20GB.

Hope that helps a little.

Thanks!
