Next gpartedlivecd -0.3.4-3 will be run with GRUB (this is not a suggestion :-p). I hope it could fix some issues when booting on some laptops.
BTW, GRUB is a powerful tool.

Please Provide Complete help/Documentation for Live CD / Live USB based GParted Releases.
