Topic: managing boot flag

I am multibooting a single hard drive with xp and 4 linux distros. I am using GAG as the bootmanager which has been working great so far. My question is which partition should the boot flag be or do I need one at all? All of the distros have grub installed in the root partitions.

Re: managing boot flag

As far as I know, only mswindows need the boot flag. Linux doesn't need it. Grub and Lilo even ignore it.
The old ms bootloader needed one "bootable" partition only, no more, no less.  I don't know how the actual mswindows bootloader behaves with 2 or more bootable partitions on the hard drive, you could try and inform us, if you like wink
