Topic: the root block is unspecified or not detected...

I'm trying to run the LiveUSB image (0.3.4.11) but I can't seem to start GParted.
The system boots from USB, but then it tries to find a bootable disk (tries all the /dev/hda and /dev/sda but doesn't find any), gives the error "the root block is unspecified or not detected", then it asks me to select a keyboard layout and a language and I just end up with a prompt from where I can get a shell. If I try to mount the USB stick (which should be /dev/sdb1) I get an error, as there doesn't seem to be any /dev/sdb1....

Any suggestions?
