Topic: gparted on an xp machine

newbie here. i am running gparted from a cd on a windows xp machine. there is a triangle with the ! symbol inside. i am unable to resize the ntfs partition. how do i do this?

Do you have any error message?
It is usually caused by some errors in the ntfs filesystem.
First, you have to boot and shutdown properly xp 1 or 2 times.
You have to run the command
chkdsk /f
from the command prompt window
or
chkdsk /p
from the "recovery console" (I think) where you enter from the xp installation cd.
It repairs ntfs errors.

After that, you can retry with Gparted. Read the documentation before resizing!
