Topic: vista cant see new partitions [SOLVED]

i partitioned some unpartitioned space using gparted into ntfs

but vista cant see the partition

i then tried formatting into fat32
but still it doesnt seem to find it

my hd looks like this

[ vista ] [ ubutnu ext3 ] [ swap ] [ the new partition ]

i dont think it is a bug with gparted because ubuntu can see the partition and use it

but is there is any work around ??

SOLVED: i simply deleted the partition and then used the vista disk manager to format the unallocated space into a new NTFS partition

Re: vista cant see new partitions [SOLVED]

My experience from windows xp and earlier is that windows detect a new fat32 or ntfs partition. I have no idea about vista, but it seems rather weird. Did you try to login to vista as administrator? (this was not the case of xp, because the user is usually administrator too).
