Topic: Defective AMD64 causing no USB mouse/keyboard and Kernel panic

Hi
After struggling to get GParted working on my AMD64, I found this link discussing the problem:

http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic.php? … ight=amd64

The swift workaround I use is:
Disable all USB in BIOS.
Plug in an ordinary ps/2 Keyboard
Reboot to the Live CD.

Am just mentioning it, as I can see that other ppls have encountered this annoying malfunction smile

The problem seems to be Linux/some AMD64 versions 'global' as I have had the same experience trying to run knoppix, Kubuntu amd64, QTparted, patition-magic etc. etc. ...
