Topic: GParted livecd 0.3.4-8 Kernel panic

Hi,

I chose the livecd automatic configuration boot from grub and ,after a series of messages, get:

"Kernel Panic -not syncing: Attempted to kill init
Clocksource tsc unstable
Time: pit clocksource has been installed"

After which the system freezes.

My processor is an Intel Core 2 Duo. Does that affect booting GParted?

Core2 duo is not an issue. Gparted works on it too.
Just, try other boot options from the initial screen.

Sorry for the late reply,

I have tried the other options and still get the same message:

"Kernel Panic -not syncing: Attempted to kill init
Clocksource tsc unstable
Time: pit clocksource has been installed"

I am using the latest Gparted version.

Re: GParted livecd 0.3.4-8 Kernel panic

I think that this problem appeared with the Linux kernel 2.6.21, that 0.3.4-8 uses. Please, try on a cdrw some older version, like 0.3.4-5 or 0.3.4-2, that use 2.6.20. (or, even one of the late 0.3.3-x versions).
