Re: booting from gparted..............

(I move the topic to the LiveCD section).

This means that you have to try another one from the boot options you have on the initial screen.
You have various boot options. The option "Force VESA driver" works in most systems.

If you always get this message (... this should have been done automatically
unfortunately it did not
so please run Forcevideo script ...)
you can enter "Forcevideo" (without quotes) at the prompt, and then choose your video type and resolution.
If your graphics card is nvidia, I think the driver is nv. Use a resolution like 1024x768 that works on most actual monitors.

In any case, read carefully the documentation before resizing any partition.

*** It is highly recommended to backup any important files before doing resize/move operations. ***

Re: booting from gparted..............

Thanks. Sorry for incorrect 'index'. Actually was in process of dualboot ubu/vista. Just installed vista, will install ubu next. This should work out better as I have been successful doing it with 'xp' installed 1st. Appreciate your help.
