Perhaps this program doesn't work for your CD/DVD recorder.
To burn the LiveCD you can use various programs, but *not* the built-in burn ability of win xp.
You must burn it as "ISO Image", not as a simple data cd.
burnatonce is a free cd-dvd burning program fir winxp, but I read in the net that some people can't make it work. This is perhaps because it is quite old and not fully compatible with the actual xp servicepack.

You can try other free (or not) programs. A nice program is Infrarecorder (free open-source software for m$windows). I installed it on my computer instead of the free Nero-express, because this last was a very limited version, serving just to make me buy the full version.

In the following link, you can find several other free burning solutions, many of them with the ability to burn ISO image files too.

From that page, I found:

A non-free program is Nero (and Roxio, Alcohol etc). There are some free versions of Nero, but I'm afraid that the Image burning feature is in the non-free version.
Nevertheless, there is no need to look there, unless you already have one of them on your computer.
Before resizing, please read carefully the documentation.
http://gparted.sourceforge.net/documentation.php
Gparted can be very dangerous, because you can't undo some actions. So, it's better to backup important data before.
You must defragment the partition, the better with the virtual memory feature (swap file) deactivated. After resizing the windows partition you must reboot at least 2 or 3 times into windows, for checking and adjustments.
It's always safer to do resizing work with the computer working on a UPS.
*** It is highly recommended to backup any important files before doing resize/move operations. ***
