Topic: Trouble getting started

I am wanting to repartition an external hard drive. I know my comp will boot from it.  I already have some pics and videos on this hard drive, and i am wanting to leave them intact.  If i understand correctly it will be possible to save my data and repartition.....The problem i am having is when i boot the live cd it begins to run correctly, but then it says something about how it cant load the visuals??? it asked me for my video card and I said ati then it asked for my res and i said 1280x720(or whatever it suggested) and it threw me an error.  have any ideas???

You can select another boot option from the initial screen.
You could try even another version from 0.3.4-8, 0.3.4-7 or 0.3.4-6.
They have some differencies in the boot process and the hardware detection.
If the problem persists, then give us the exact error messages you get, and your hardware details.
