Topic: GParted not seeing Hitachi SATA drive

Hi- all in the title really, drive is Hitachi 250GB T7K500 HDT725025VLA380 SATAII. I'm using GParted LiveCD 0.3.4-6, which seems to boot up ok, but then only detects the DVD drive. HD is currently partitioned into 2, with one of approx 5Gb for the Windows swap file and everything else in the other.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Re: GParted not seeing Hitachi SATA drive

I found that there are issues with the SATA detection by Linux on this motherboard.

It seems that the BIOS setup offers some options about SATA: it can be detected by the OS as IDE drive or other options.
Can you try please if another option makes your SATA drive detected by both Gparted and windows?
