Topic: fix MBR for windows XP HDD using GParted?

I am trying to grt a dual boot XP-ubuntu 7.04 system operating, utilizing a HDD for XP and an HDD for ubuntu.

I can now boot into ubuntu 7.04 and I am operating as a ubuntu user now.

On investigation, it would appear that the MBR on my XP HD has been corrupted, in the manipulations I have done so far.

I understand that it may be possible to fix the MBR, from the ubuntu OS.

Can this be confirmed?

Can GParted help to fix the Windows MBR? If so, how?

I apologize if thia question has been asked elsewhere in this forum?

Many thanks for the help. Please Keep it Sinple, since I am new to Linux.

From what i know u can only fix the windows MBR from the boot cd by using the rescue mode or something like that and running fixmbr.
