burn ico to DVD

Hi,

I need to create a linux boot DVD from an ISO image.
I boot to gparted live with the option to run from RAM. Once booted I remove the DVD.

Now I want to access the DVD drive to copy an iso image using dd .

when I set of=/dev/sr0  it fails saying : Read only file system .

It seems dd will do USB devices but not /dev/sr0

It would be good to have growisofs available.
