Topic: Gparted-Livecd slow when resizing ntfs partition

For my work I am trying to develop a Dual boot Windows XP + DOS image.
The person who created the last image cannot remember how to resized the ntfs partition, moved it to the right and created the fat16 dos partition.
I found this website, tried gparted-livecd on a test comptuter. It works great.  I am happy with it.
It resizes fine, but when i goes to move the ntfs partition to the right, it is very slow. It looks as thought it is doing a sector by sector copy.
How can i speed it up. Could i get it to copy just the data and not the free space too.
It is slower with the latest version of gparted because it has the readonly test included.
Any sugestions??

No : It really takes time.
The main dev is far away, and only may solve this.
