The GPARTED Live CD simply kernel panics on every setting, including failsafe.

Which version of GParted Live are you using?  The latest is 0.26.0-2.

Did you look at the Tips on Booting GParted Live?

Yup, latest. Downloaded today.

Failsafe doesn't work either.

The ONLY option that could relate to the CD/HDD (all_generic_ide) doesn't work either.

Please clarify which exact version.  All current and prior versions of GParted Live are available for download.  Different web sites may list different versions as "latest".

Also did you try Other modes -> KMS mode?
