Topic: Development Plans for the Next Release of GParted (0.25.0)

With the next release of GParted we plan to work on enhancements and bug fixes.

GParted 0.25.0 is planned for release on January 18, 2016.

A patch set to Bug 757671 - Rework Dialog_Partition_New::Get_New_Partition() a bit is part of an ongoing Encrypted LUKS enhancement initiative and has been committed to the git repository.  Thanks goes to Mike Fleetwood for his work on this initiative.

A patch to address Bug 756878 - GParted - Fix missing "old end" value in detail log of en_CA translation has been committed to the GNOME git repository for inclusion in the next release of GParted.

Bug 758131 - Don't run GUI as root (Was: [wayland] gparted fails to start under wayland) has been addressed by patch "Make about dialog website link non-clickable".  Thanks to Curtis Gedak.

A patch set to address Bug 467925 - gparted: add progress bar during operation has been committed to the GNOME git repository.  Thanks goes to Phillip Susi, Mike Fleetwood, and others for working on this solution.

On the topic of a release date, Phillip Susi indicated that he is ready to package the next version of GParted for inclusion the upcoming Ubuntu Long Term Support release.   To ensure that Phillip has time to do his part, I would like to get GParted stable over the next two weeks, and then create a production release in the following week.

A small patch to update the README file has been committed to the git repository.  This is an update for Bug 756829 - SWRaid member detection enhancements.

A patch to address Bug 760099 - Revert tarball compression back to gzip) has been been committed to the git repository.  Thanks to Curtis Gedak for finding the Debian release blocking issue and fixing it.
