Topic: A question regarding gparted online security.

Hi!

I was just formatting some of my harddrives using a gparted live dvd and suddenly realized, that i had my lan cable connected.

Now my question is if Gparted has any firewall rules activated.
I am afraid thats some mad guys working at my ISP could send me malware when no firewall is active.
I got no extra router connected and the modem router i own has basically software programmed by my ISP on it, f.e. they know all my router passwords.

Thanks in advance for any help if you need some help with translating i could do some  english - german.

When GParted Live boots, it does not configure the network card and no IP address is assigned.  Hence no networking is available at boot.  Hopefully that answers your question.

To enable networking see the GParted Live Manual - Enabling Network Access.
