Topic: the "no screen found"

Hi,
I've pretty much the same configuration of the former post with "no screen":

ASUS N46VM i7-3610QM  with NVIDIA GEFORCE 630M

I've tried the version 0.16.1-1 amd64 and the 0.16.1-4 amd64... both failed as mencioned earlier....

(I've tried the tips, by the way)

Should I try the Debian file as you recently suggested?

What is the problem? a proper video driver?

Hope you can help...

EDITION: I've found something about the serial is into the new BIOS/UEFI system.
My note is a OEM win8 and so it wouldnt allow any other OS...

Does anyone heard about that?

Have you tried going into the BIOS/UEFI to change the "Secure Boot/Trusted Computing" setting so that other OSes can boot?

Yes.
There is only one option for secure boot ... i put disable.
There is no legacy or any other option.

The Gparted runs fine until the video settings.

Have you tried the Tips on Booting GParted Live?

EDIT:  'Just reread this and saw that you said you've tried the tips.

It would be helpful if you could try the latest Debian Live distro to see if this works.   If not then the problem is common to both and should be reported upstream (Debian).

Sorry, cant do it no more.

I managed to run w7 instalation and formated to MBR...(client wishes).
Returned the note...

The Gparted worked perfectly after formating the HDD.

So, its probably the GPT system with the OEM protected system... and not a Gparted fault.

(By the way, I had to change the ei.cfg file under /sources of any W7 instalation...)


Finally, needless to say...  I got pretty worried about those notes beeing sale without possibility of using Gparted, Debian and other open softwares!

Cant do anything else now... Hope you can find a solution under those OEM protected notes!
