Topic: BootMGR error after uncorrupting HDD :(

Output:
HDD corrupted.
Followed a tutorial
using GParted and unsuccesful.
Changed cylinder number in testdisk to 53770 and succesful!

Tried to install Windows 7 but when "Boot from CD/DVD :" comes after 5 minutes that blinking
_ goes down and nothing happens. sad
Formatting to NTFS, same results. Right clicking partition and clicking "Boot Flags" and "Boot"
causes the error "BootMGR is missing bla bla bla"!Please help! Sick and tired. Trying to solve for
days!

Help ??  No OS DVDs work, only stuff like GParted, Partition Magic and HDDerase.Tried uplugging
everything, cleaning the whole computer and plugging them back: nothing. I have 2 Windows 7
DVDs  and a Fedora DVD. Is there any hope of fixng my computer?
When I insert disk, BootMGR error shows up! What's the cause? Once again, there is no OS in my HDD.

I know people aren't supposed to reply within minutes in a forum, but help needed...:( + sad = Super sad
And please (really) don't give suggestions like changing boot priority and formatting it in another PC.

What did you mean when you mentioned "HDD corrupted"?

Is the file system corrupt?
If so, then Windows is your best bet to try to repair the file system.  This means that you would need to boot from a Windows Recovery or Install media.

Have you tried to restore boot as described in the GParted FAQ?

Using this tutorial http://geexhq.com/recover-partition-table/ I uncorrupted my HDD and then I formatted
it to NTFS. Then I selected Boot Flags and ticked boot. So, my file system is currently OK. But, I can't install any OS. It's always the same message, BootMGR is missing.:C = Even sadI have 2 Win 7 DVD, no of them works. I used both PS/2 mousen keyboard and USB mouse n keyboard. Same result.This is weird, even when I try to boot from DVD, "Boot from CD/DVD:" comes and the CD/DVD  reader makes some noise, like it's trying to read the DVD. But the BootMGR error pops up. When I open the CD/DVD reader, the disc comes out spinning. :C

I formatted my PC with DBAN. This time, a new error: "Boot disk failure...Blah BLah Blah". This is so UnFixAble! Anyone with a solution?

I understood that testdisk recovered the partition table. This doesn't mean that the filesystem(s) in the partition(s) are necessarily good.
Furthermore, you write that you formatted everything. So, I understand that you don't have any files to keep from the hard drive.
If so, you can try to delete the first part of the drive and retry on the empty HD.
Perhaps you could check the system for hardware problems. Even a loose HD connector can cause problems.

I ran a test, and the HDD is good. Did what you asked, nothing... 15 days wasted. I am calling a technician tomorrow and getting this fixed. I had to burn so many disks, DBAN, Partition Magic, HDD Erase..........
sad Once he fixes it, I will post the solution and get this thread closed.
