Topic: no screens found

Hi there,
i've been trying booting gparted several times on my laptop, but the live gparted can find no screen.
I tried with gparted 0.14, 0.15 and 0.16 which all give this 'error'.

I've attached a screenshot (taken with my smartphone...) and xorg log file.
I have a Asus N56VZ which has i7 3630qm processor and therefore intel hd 4000 video card, along nvidia gt650m (with optimus technology).

I hope you can help me solving the problem smile

i tried most of the tips suggested on that page.
When i manually configure xorg server, it doesn't matter which option i pick, it just says the same error.
The same is for failsafe mode, safe graphic.

Re: no screens found

Hi dovahkiin,
Could you give GParted live's upstream, i.e. Debian live, a try?
http://live.debian.net/cdimage/release/ … so-hybrid/
Especially this one:
http://live.debian.net/cdimage/release/ … onfree.iso

If it works, then definitely the issue is on GParted live. If it fails, too, then we have to report the issue to upstream, i.e. Debian project.
Thanks.

Steven.

Hi,
i would try but both links you posted are no more avalaible (404 not found). Maybe because Wheezy is now stable, but i can't find live image of the new distro...
However i have a UEFI Motherboard and i can't switch to legacy BIOS,  so i think i must download an amd64 version.
-edit
I found live images of wheezy (http://live.debian.net/cdimage/release/ … so-hybrid/), i'll try it soon. Umh, it seems that live cd doesn't support uefi boot...
