With the next release of GParted (0.16.0) we plan to work on enhancements and bug fixes.

GParted 0.16.0 is planned for release April 24, 2013.

Candidates under consideration for GParted 0.16.0 include:

Vladimir Panteleev has provided a patch.  Further testing is required.


With the 1.0.0 release of GParted we plan to work on preparing GParted to work with GNOME 3.0.
The release will become 1.0.0 if and when we drop support for the gtkmm-2.4 API.  The plan with the first few releases is to maintain compatibility with both gtkmm-2.4 and gtkmm-3.0.

Colin Watson has created an initial patch.  More development work and testing is required.

A patch set to address Bug 695279 - GParted doesn't compile on RHEL / CentOS 5.9 has been committed to the git repository.  Thanks goes to Mike Fleetwood for enabling GParted to compile on more distro versions.

GParted 0.16.0 is planned for release on Wednesday, April 24, 2013.

Preliminary Release Notes

  This release of GParted includes a critical bug fix for a crash that
  might cause loss of data while moving or copying a partition.  We
  strongly recommend that all users of GParted 0.15.0 upgrade to
  GParted 0.16.0 to avoid data loss.  Also included are bug fixes,
  enhancements and language translation updates.
