Topic: [closed] integrate custom kernel

Hello,

how can I integrate a custom kernel (module) into gparted livecd? I tried a custom 2.6.20.4 kernel: replaced /lib/modules/2.6.xxx directory in gparted.igz and gparted with the new bzImage. But after booting it hangs with a kernel panic. The message is:

RAMDISK: Compressed image found  at block 0
RAMDISK: incomplete write (12288 != 32768) 16777216
UDF-fs: No partition found (1)
XFS: bad magic number
XFS: SB validate failed
No filesystem could mount root, tried: reiserfs ext3 ext2 cramfs squashfs minix
msdos vfat iso9660 ntfs romfs fuseblk udf jfs xfs
Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block(1,0)

I used the config from original gparted-livecd-kernel (/proc/config.gz) ... but it seems there is still the
right filesystem missing!?

Is there an official way to integrate a custom kernel?

Did you enable squashfs in your kernel ?
Have a look at config files : http://gparted.svn.sourceforge.net/view … ed/livecd/

Yes, squashfs is enabled - I used the config (/proc/config.gz) from original (livecd) running kernel ...

How do you create the livecd?
