Topic: Mac Startup Disk - GParted-live CD Not Recognized

After burning gparted-live-0.14.1-6-i486.iso to a DVD, the disk is not recognized as a Mac Startup Disk, and will not boot the PC.

In OSX 10.5.8 on a PowerMac7,3 (G5 dual 2.0Ghz), I burned gparted-live-0.14.1-6-i486.iso to a DVD using Disk Utility.
I dragged and dropped the .iso file to the left pane in Disk Utility, selected the .iso file, and clicked the Burn button.
The CD mounts on the desktop and opens with contents - EFI folder, EFO-imgs folder, GParted-Live-Version file, GPL file, isolinux folder, live folder, syslinux folder, and utils folder.

I do not understand which (if any) of the Tips on Booting GParted Live apply to my Mac system, or if those have anything to do with enabling the .iso DVD as a Mac Startup Disk.

Do you have access to any other computers?  If so can you try booting these with GParted Live to test that the DVD was currently burned?

No other computers.

Unfortunately I do not have access to a Mac computer to test.  ;(

Have you been able to boot other Live Linux images, such as Debian Live?

Never heard of Debian Live or others.
Point me to a download for Mac OSX 10.5 PowerPC (not Intel) and I'll try.
Let me know if/how I can install it to flash drive,
or I'll burn to DVD (only have 2 CDs and a spindle of DVDs).

Aha!  This sentence helps explain what is occurring.  Specifically that your Mac computer central processing unit is based on the PowerPC architecture, and not the Intel x86 or x86_64 architectures.

GParted Live supports the Intel x86 (32-bit), and x86_64 (64-bit) architectures.

In order to run on a PowerPC architecture, you will need a GNU/Linux distribution that has been ported to the Power PC, such as Debian GNU/Linux.  Unfortunately I am not aware of any Live CD/DVD images of Debian for the PowerPC architecture.  ;(

Perhaps this link could help:
http://www.debian.org/releases/stable/

I don't know however if the installation media can work as live media too.
