Topic: What is the last version of GPartEd to fit on 128 MB USB flash?

Hi all.

So, I got to make some changes and I had a v0.7.1-1 of GPE laying on one of the disks which is a couple of years old (still works fine, BTW). I d/l'd the latest Live v0.14.0-1, used TuxBoot to make a lve USB and right near the end it reported no more room on the drive which really has som 125 MB and I use it just for GPE. Which version will fit on this drive?

Also, I got HD+ display, how to change the rez? At best I get 800x600 and thats the max available. It's not essential, but it's annoying.

128GB is 122GiB.  Perhaps some of the 0.11.0. versions and older could fit there.
However, we recommend to keep good backup copies of your files, just in case...
Please, read the change log of the newer editions to be sure that you don't need any newer feature or bug fix.

Concerning the resolution:
You can use some alternate boot option, especially the safe VESA 1024x768 display.

I'm talking about 128 MB USB flash drive and making a Live USB out of it, not 128 GB. I read some of the news on the front page, but havent seen any mentioning of th size of the flash

Come on, I can put the latest SliTAZ 4.0 distro on this flash, and its a full-featured OS a quarter of a size of GPartEd. AND it has GParted 0.10.


About the rez: I used that mode too, but that's the max rez available, and in it, 800x600 is the max offered if you want to change it manually. I'm not sure if this is Clonezilla or GPE option (I ran them consecutively), but configuring X during boot results in a reboot.

Sorry, I meant 128MB, not GB. My mistake.
There is constant demand for new features in GParted and for new tools included in the live version. That's why the ISO becomes larger and larger.
GParted it self isn't so big. The biggest part of the data volume is the operating environment and additional software tools.
GParted has to work on many different file systems and to include all necessary librairies for them.
Old ISO versions (around 0.3.3-x or 0.3.4-x) were about 50MiB big.

You could also close the GParted application, go to the terminal and run
sudo Forcevideo
to configure the video resolution. This will start X and run GParted.

I think that's the option I'm talking about, the one that crashes and reboots. Admitedly, it was a rather old version of GPE.

nevr mind the size, I'm gonna start booting SliTAZ from now on.
