Topic: how to pass free space from extended to primary? (solved)

Hello,
here is a french guy who need some help!
I am under Windows Seven and want to enlarge my primary partition C: .
Here is where i am for the time being; after some "apply" in the livecd Gparted, here is my disk:

<--Primary---> <---------------------------------- Extended---------------------------------------------->
....dev/sda1..........dev/sda7.........non...........dev/sda5............non........dev/sda6............non
....................................................alloc.....................................alloc.................................alloc
<-C: system-> <---empty------><-------><-----D:data--------><-------><---E:data------><------>

What I have done up to now is to take back free space from "dev/sda5" and create an empty part "dev/sda7".

How now to pass this "dev/sda7" from the extended to the primary (in order then to enlarge C:)?

Thank you for your help.
Have a nice day

Re: how to pass free space from extended to primary? (solved)

OK,
I found the solution: it is the "extended" which has to be reduced!
So:
- I suppressed "dev/sda7"
- I reduced the "extended" (on the left) : this gives me a free space available in the primary, on the right side of "dev/sda1"
- then I was able to enlarged "dev/sda1"

Have a nice day
