Topic: Default login not working
From Windows XP Home under Virtualbox with gparted-live-0.12.0-5.iso it asks for a login which does not exist anywhere.
The login user", with password "live" mentioned in the docs do not work.

Did you see any error message during booting?
Especially the steps of Debian live-config.
Steven.
I saw warnings but I can't figure how to pause the screen and cannot find a log. Would there be a log somewhere? I'm running it in VirtualBox from USB but I got the same results booting from the USB flash-drive prepared with Yumi.
There seem to be many errors I see after running it many times.
returned failure live config failed
squashfs error unable to read page fragment blocks (about 15 of them).
Since you are the only one reporting this issue, and I can not reproduce the problem here. I guess this problem is on the USB flash drive itself.
Could you try another USB flash drive? Or give CD version of GParted live a try.
Steven.
Solved.
I re-downloaded and installed and when I ran it this time it did not even ask for a login and after answering prompts it went into the Gparted gui.
Does it matter how it is downloaded? I used wxdownloader portable download manager before. This time I downloaded it in Firefox Portable.
Thanks.
The checksum shows if the downloaded file is good or no.
You can find the correct values in the main download page of the GParted site.
