Topic: [SOLVED] Help wanted testing changing the 'UUID' on NTFS filesystems

Hi,

I am developing a Gparted patch to add support for setting the filesystem UUID, and as I don't own any Windows,  I need some help testing an ntfs-3g patch that Tuxera kindly developed, to allow setting the UUID on NTFS filesystems.

Please let me know if you are willing to help.

I am primarily interested in how Windows (preferably different versions) behaves when a filesystem's UUID (or actually, for NTFS it is the volume serial number) is changed, or partly changed.

Please let me know.

Thanks to work by Rogier, the ability to set a new UUID on a file system was added to GParted 0.12.0 released on February 21st, 2012.
