Topic: Totally frustrated - can't boot G parted live CD on Macbook Pro 10.6.8

Hi

Please can somebody explain - in layman's terms, how to boot G Parted on my mac.

I have downloaded the latest gparted-live-0.11.0-2.iso and gparted-livecd-0.3.4-11.iso and dragged each iso file onto the CD image on my desktop and clicked burn. I then restarted mac and the CD drive started whirling but each time I got ' no bootable drive - insert bootable drive and press any key to continue'.

If I press the alt/option key when booting, I get the icon for my internal HD and can boot back to mac.

Think is... I managed to download and install G Parted at one point about a year ago when I first rooted my android phone and partitioned my SD card (which is what I want to do again) and ever since then my mac would never just boot into OS X it would instead go to a black screen with a flashing curser and i'd have to press option and select the start up disc.

All I want to do is turn my SD's ext 4 to Ext 3 1GB with 0 swap and rest FAt 32 but I can't and i'm really annoyed.

Help?

Thank you!

Steph

Did you burn the .iso as an image to the CD?   If the .iso was burned as data then it will not boot.

If you view the files on the CD, does it contain the .iso file?  If so then the disk is data and will not boot.

Also if you have access to another computer you might also try booting the CD there to help determine if the problem is with the CD, or with the computer.
