Topic: Can't do anything with hfs+ partitions

I'm using gparted-live-0.11.0-2.iso

I have a new iMac 27 with a 256GB SSD and a 1TB HDD. The SSD has an hfs+ partition for Mac and an ntfs BOOTCAMP partition for Windows 7.

On the SSD I need to shrink the hfs+ partition and then extend the ntfs partition (basically reconfigure the Windows side to have more space).

When I boot into gparted both the hfs+ partitons, the one on the SSD and the one on the HDD, have the yellow warning triangle symbol next to them and are untouchable. It recognizes the names and types as hfs+, but doesn't recognize their size or extent. In the partition properties it says there may ba a missing package, hfsprogs?

Would you be able to try running a file system check on the hfs+ partitions from within Mac OS X?  Then cleanly shutdown Mac OS X and then boot the GParted Live CD.
