Topic: dumb question

I've downloaded the gparted livecd and I can't figure out how to burn it.  There's no iso file just a dat file and two other folders.  How do I burn it to an image with no iso?

Re: dumb question

After you downloaded the iso file, open your burncd software and choose burn from image, "iso"...
It will do the trick wink

Re: dumb question

No, it is an iso file....

I guess you try to download the software , which is here : http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile … _id=469155

But livecd is iso file : http://sourceforge.net/project/showfile … _id=493216

Re: dumb question

well when i download the iso file, it appears on my desktop as a winrar file that can be extracted, but i can burn it as an Iso too so I guess it is an iso.  It burned successfully but didn't boot to it.

Re: dumb question

to burn an iso : open your burning tool and set to burn "image file", then choose iso extension, then go ahead smile
This is not a copy/past file !....

does it help ?

Re: dumb question

Okay.
I assume you have the last iso : http://downloads.sourceforge.net/gparte … ror=switch
Then when running the Forcevideo script, choose vesa and 1024x768. And tell me how it works, please.

Re: dumb question

well, I ran it again and it did somethin entirely different.  I just kept hitting enter, it didn't ask me for any video options or anything this time, and I go to the GUI and split my partition.  Now I just have to wait for my vista cd to arrive.  Are there any problems that occur when you split a partition, like performance wise?
