Topic: [SOLVED] [liveUSB 0.3.4-1 ] stalled at "the root block device..."

hi.
i created a usb key with gparted livecd files like said in http://gparted.sourceforge.net/liveusb.php

[/media/usbkey]$ ls
boot.cat  gparted.dat  isolinux.bin  linux    options.msg
boot.msg  gparted.igz  isolinux.cfg  mdp/     splash.lss
gparted   initrd.gz    ldlinux.sys   memdisk  syslinux.cfg

with all the files at the root directory.

but when i boot that usb key:
it is veeeeerryyy long to load gparted and gparted.idz.
but more importantly after i choose the keymap (16 for fr) and the language settings (08 for french)
i got a prompt blinking at me.

Please specify a device to boot, or "shell" for a shell.
boot() ::

what am i supposed to do then ?
is it a big fat bug ?

Yes : i made a mistake in the last release : I apologize for this !
Please try to use last beta from http://gparted.free.fr/beta
Or if you think you can : edit copy isolinux.cfg to syslinux.cfg
then change cdroot to cdroot=/dev/sd in each menu

and that will fix the problem !

ok i'll try that.
it's /dev/sd and not /dev/sda ?

It is : /dev/sd

default gparted
append initrd=gparted.igz root=/dev/ram0 init=/linuxrc vga=788 looptype=squashfs loop=/gparted.dat dokeymap splash=silent nosound docache cdroot=/dev/sd

For the first choice.
