Topic: Why Gparted is very very long to find partitions ???

A long time ago, when I use Gparted in Ubuntu distribution, I can launch it and have the main screen after 3 or 5 seconds.

Now with last version, I have to wait from 30 to 40 seconds to see my disks...

Why gparted doen't simply read the partitions tables to display disks ???

NB: I try also with Gparted on USB key, it's the same behaviour.

Re: Why Gparted is very very long to find partitions ???

GParted uses many other free software utilities to learn details about the partitions.  Some of these commands might take a long time to determine the free space in the partition (e.g., NTFS and large FAT file systems).

If you still find that the previous version is much faster, perhaps you could provide the GParted version number and the type and size of the file systems you are using.
