Topic: GPart CD wont boot

I downloaded the ISO file and created a disc, set my boot options so the CD drive is first, but my computer still boots to windows. THe CD drive spins like it is checking the disc for boot options, but then still skips on to Windows. Ive tried 2 different discs in case I screwed up the first, and same results. Anyone have an answer?

Are you able to boot any other Live CD's in the CD Drive?

Did you burn the .iso file as an image, and not as data?

I did burn it as an image, I checked and burnt the second disc to make sure. I don't have another live disc to try, I don't think. Do you have a suggestion of another disc to try?

We would like to insist on this point. You could try to boot from some other bootable cd (other than GParted). This can be any Linux distribution disk like Knoppix, Ubuntu, Slax, etc, or a mswindows installation cd. This manner you can be sure that the boot parameters are correctly set and saved.
In general, in case of issues with hardware compatibility, a first page appears asking to select boot options.

Furthermore, you have to check if the cd/dvd drive works well. I booted myself into Knoppix livecd, tried to reboot 2 hours later but i wasn't able: my cd drive was dead since the previous reboot!

Another thing is to check the checksum value of the downloaded iso file.

If the downloaded iso is corrupted for some reason, such boot problems can't be excluded (I think this is less probable).
