Topic: Gprted Live 0.7.0-4 Not Booting AVID Deko PC

Hey all.

Trying to get Gparted Live to boot up an AVID Deko 1000 (which is basically a 3.2Ghz Intel Xeon T PC) so that I can resize the waaay too small OS partition. However, after the usual BIOS start up flashes on the display, I get “ISOLINUX 4.03 2010-10-22 RTCD Copyright © 1994-2010 H. Peter Anuin et al” with a flashing cursor and a totally unresponsive PC. The DVD/CD drive light goes off and nothing else happens. No boot choices, no GUI choices, nada. I’ve gotten the same response from two separate burns of the ISO.

What’s odd is that I tested the first burn on an AOPen MP-9565-D PC I have and it behaved as I expected. hmm

I checked the PC BIOS and the Boot options allow for booting from the CD.

Gparted Live ISO –v0.7.4-4  (gparted-live-0.7.0-4.iso)

Wondering if anyone out there has any suggestions? Been looking in this forum, but nothing seems particular to my situation.

Thxs much in advance!
Cheers

Re: Gprted Live 0.7.0-4 Not Booting AVID Deko PC

Try these mthods:
1. GParted live 0.7.1-1
2. Use USB flash drive to boot your machine, maybe it's your CD/CD-ROM compatibility issue: http://gparted.sourceforge.net/liveusb.php

Re: Gprted Live 0.7.0-4 Not Booting AVID Deko PC

Thanks much Steven.

Giving it all a try. Alas, I think it's something in the hardware since the boot starts with all GPartd versions and then just stops. sad Even worse, I can't get the hardware to even think about the USB even though the BIOS is set to do Removiable Devices and then CD... <sigh>

Stooopid stooopid AVID Deko.

thxs!
cheers
