Topic: resize partition: error, no details in error message

Hi,

i have a 160 gb sata HDD, i booted with gparted boot cd. i have only 1 partition on the hard disk. i tried to resize this partition, to create a second partition after that. i have enough free space, so that the new partition is completely free of data. i resize and press apply. after a few seconds i get an error message without any further information. i press ok and gparted removes the new partition size back to the old size.
i tried many different sizes, always the same problem. im not sure but i think the old partition is ntfs.

can u help me?

It is useful to have a screenshot from the GParted screen, that gives info on the partition. The GParted livecd allows to take such pictures.

Furthermore, after any operation or failed operation, GParted can make a detail file, with the performed operations and any error messages. This file is located in memory. You need to copy it to a medium like floppy disk or USB flash memory. Look at the documentation page for details about this.
