Topic: Inquiry of the Process of Installation on USB Flash Drives

Making GParted bootable on my USB flash drive manually.
It says that "if run from Windows", it could cause my Windows system to be unable to boot.
What exactly does that mean?
Right now, I have all the files in my flash drive, but I am running it from Windows Explorer.
So basically, I am clicking makeboot.bat from Windows Explorer, but the file (as long with all the other files) are within my flash drive itself.
Is this dangerous?

It's dangerous if you run makeboot.bat in the wrong drive, the original boot loader of your MS windows will be overwritten. As the doc says:
"Makeboot.bat must be run from your USB flash drive. Executing it incorrectly could cause your MS windows not to boot."
Therefore make sure the USB flash drive is the correct drive (e.g. G: something, at least normally it won't be C:) before you let makeboot.bat do the job for you.

Is it really possible to boot using a standard USB flash drive? What if my notebook don't have any CD or DVD drives? Is it still possible to have it booted?  pokies online
