merging w2k & xpro partitions

I have an older desktop that has a w2k (primary partition) and an xppro partition installed on it.  I would like to merge the 2 partitions to create just an xppro partition.  I burned the 0.5.2-9 live image to a cd on my vista laptop. When I booted the desktop with the cd, my only options were to repair or install vista.  Which partition on my desktop (w2k or xppro) should i reburn the 0.5.2-9 live image from? And can u give me some step by step advice on merging the 2 partitions?  thanks,
