Topic: gparted and chkdsk

Hello:

Every time that I run gparted and then reboot, the system automatically runs a chkdsk /f.

Is this normal functionality?

Thanks,

Fred

Re: gparted and chkdsk

Which version of GParted are you using?

What actions are you applying within GParted?

What file system is used in the partition (e.g., NTFS)?

- Version gparted-live-0.5.2-1.iso
- Essentially I am just using the defaults and shrinking and expanding the partitions. The chkdsk occurs on both expand and shrink.
- NTFS

Re: gparted and chkdsk

Any time an NTFS file system is resized by ntfsresize, it is marked to have chkdsk run on the next boot of Windows.

This is normal.
