Topic: Mouse alignment totaly off when running live-cd in VMWare VM

I wanted to resize an NTFS partition in a VMware virtual disk.  I have a Windows XP virtual machine that I used to boot the live-cd (thus leaving the virtual hard disk unmounted).  The host OS is MacOS-10.5.8 on an Intel Macbook Pro.

The problem is that the mouse clicks did not line up with the menus and icons, such that I was forced to
use the tab key to navigate the GUI.  Since I only needed to resize the existing  partition, I was able to use
the tab key and keyboard shortcuts to do this and it worked.   I would still like to be able to use the GUI
for more complex jobs, so I need help figuring out how to fix the GUI issue, which I assume is some kind
of X-Windows issue, if anyone has an idea.

Re: Mouse alignment totaly off when running live-cd in VMWare VM

I have seen this kind of behaviour with VMWare Player when GParted Live is booted into a virtual machine when the .vmx file contains an entry such as

guestOS = "winxppro"

instead of an entry such as

guestOS = "linux"

From what I saw there appears to be difference with VMWare in how the mouse is handled when the virtual machine is set up for Windows as opposed to GNU/Linux.
