Topic: grey screen of death...

i shold preface this by saying i am a total noob.. but finally done with windows and trying to join the linux ranks for the first time...

anyways...

i load gparted.. everything goes smoothly.. appears to try to boot but i am greated by a grey screen with the black x in the middle.. with my minimal experience with linux i recognize this as some sort of startup screen.. but normally it does something after that.. my drive goes idol.. and nothing happens..

i am skipping all of the initial setup options and diving right in....

any suggestions or am i just screwed?

Which version of the livecd did you use ?
If you didnt, could you try the last beta-verison ? ----->http://gparted-forum.surf4.info/viewtopic.php?id=313
