Topic: [SOLVED] What comes on the Gparted CD
I can't find this information. It's probably available, but I don't see it.
All I know for sure is that it has gparted (duh) and testdisk. What other utilities come with it?

To view the packages included on the GParted Live image, see the packages-#.#.#-#.txt file in the download directory.
For GParted Live 0.5.2-9, the file is named: packages-0.5.2-9.txt
Thanks. Though I thought the questioner was supposed to say it was solved ![]()
BTW, the email went to my Spam folder, so lucky I checked. And, of course, by now I'd already downloaded the CD and looked for myself.
I still think it would be a good idea to list the important utilities, as that's a heck of a lot of packages to sort through to find out which are actual disk utilities. But I appreciate you taking the time to answer anyways.
Yes you are absolutely correct. Usually the questioner marks the post as solved.
I was doing a mass review and clean up of the feature requests so I took the liberty of marking some posts as solved. ![]()
Perhaps you could suggest which packages it would be useful to list as "the important utilities"?
I was meaning the ones the user would most likely run. While the full package list you gave me was daunting, these are the ones I know for sure are user-run programs:
gparted
mlterm
nano
partimage
testdisk
vim-tiny
Also, now that I think about it, it may have been someone else's LiveCD that I used that just happened to have gparted on it. The one I used I thought had Firefox in it, too, which I used to look up how to use the programs.
ETA: The email came in my Inbox this time, so it seems Google figured out you weren't really spam.

Thank you for the suggestions. This short list of application packages has been added to the GParted Live web page.
I was glad to help. And now I would consider my original request SOLVED. ![]()
