Topic: Boot-up freezing using LiveCD-0.3.3-0

Hi,

I've got a Toshiba Tecra A8 laptop, trying to use the Livecd to juggle the partitions.

I can't get the CD to boot though.  It gets up to:

PCI: Probing PCI hardware

Then just locks up.

I've tried using 'noapic', 'pci=biosirq', and 'nolapic', but the bootup still freezes at that point.

Anybody have any idea's on how to get this to boot-up?

It is possible that the downloaded .iso file was corrupted during the download. This is why I have asked for an md5 checksum so that we can verify the integrity of the download befoe burning the .iso to CD.

MD5 is just in the near of the iso file !

I have the same problem with a HP DC5100.  What I ended up doing was booting off a Slax live CD.  I downloaded the Gparted module  http://www.slax.org/modules.php?categor … d+%26+libs to a USB key, double click it within Slax and Gparted is now in the KDE menu.

Use Gparted as directed after that!

Forgot to mention that you need to "unmount" the drives you wish to work with first.
