Topic: Imaging a dynamic HDD to a usb external hard drive.

Hi i have kind of a complex problem and i was just wondering how to go about dealing with it.

If i use gparted live cd can i image one of my interntal ide hard disks (its a Matxtor 160GB currently formated as a dynamic drive in ntfs) to an external usb hdd. And then plug the usb hard disk into another computer and be able to access my data that was on my hard drive before on the new machine.

I am doing this because my old pc broke and i tried to move my hard drives to a new machine but the new machine only recognises one of the hard discs (it won't load up the dynamic disc but loads the simple disc) but i need the data off the other one so i can then reformat that drive so it will work again.

Any help appreciated.
