Topic: Help needed please. Mac osx reinstall has marooned my linux partitions

Hi all, I have a G4 emac 1ghz usb1 type Mac with a 200gb hd partitioned as so 100gb osx disk1.30gb osx disk2,30gb ubuntu and 30gb slackintosh.

I had to reinstall osx as it was getting flakey and Disk warrior could not repair it. Ever since I cant boot into ubuntu and no longer get the option l, x, c, as it boots.

I suspect the mbr or its mac equivelent has been hosed. Could someone please explain how I can recreate it if it is possible, or if its easier to copy my data and reinstall from scratch.

Thanks

what has this to do with gparted?

anyway, you could try 'testdisk' on the livecd...

I quess I thought wrongly that gparted could create/reorganise the boot partition. Anyway thanks for getting back.

I did partly solve my problem by holding the ALT ket and selecting my linux partitions then I do get my usual choice of X, L, orC. Inconvenient but at least I can access any of my partitions.

Cheers
