Topic: [SOLVED]GParted LiveCD "OHCI: BIOS handoff failed (BIOS bug) ffffffff"

Ubuntu server 6.06.1 installed on brand new celeron D 3.2GHz machine.

Created CD using gparted-livecd-0.3-1.iso.

Boot to CD starts fine.  Last successful post is No scheduler cfq registered.  Then get
OHCI: BIOS handoff failed (BIOS bug) ffffffff

Bios version is GC11010M.15A.0009.2006.0420.1045

Can anyone please help me?

OHCI is a usb thing. Turn off usb in bios and try again.

I got exactly the same error with the new emachine T3508 computer I bought.  There is an bios update that fixes this problem at least for emachine computers.  Go to http://www.e4me.com/support/product_support.html to download the update.
